Quick answer: The best Trojan golf cart battery for most carts is the Trojan T-875 8-volt for six-battery 48V carts (170 Ah at the 20-hour rate, $1,988.95 for a six-pack at Golf Cart Tire Supply), the T-105 6-volt for 36V carts and the T-1275 12-volt for four-battery carts. Trojan’s warranty is the detail most buyers miss: only six flooded models, including those three, get 18 months of free replacement, while the T-125, T-145 and T-890 get 12 months. If you want to stop watering, the Trojan OnePack 48V lithium pack ($2,998.95 as a bundle) weighs 120 lb and carries a 10-year warranty, but only if you register it within 90 days.
Trojan makes three kinds of golf cart battery: flooded lead-acid (the T-series and Ranger 160), sealed AES AGM, and the OnePack lithium packs. This guide lines up every current Trojan golf cart battery on the same terms, using the ratings on Trojan’s own product pages, the warranty documents Trojan publishes, and set prices listed at Golf Cart Tire Supply, all checked on November 4, 2026. We compared published specs and prices; we did not run batteries ourselves.

Which Trojan battery does your cart need?
Count the batteries under the seat before you look at models. Trojan’s golf cart line is built around four pack layouts:
- Six batteries, 36V cart = 6-volt. Buy six T-105s (or T-125/T-145 for more runtime). See our 6 volt golf cart battery guide for non-Trojan options.
- Six batteries, 48V cart = 8-volt. This is the standard Club Car DS and Precedent layout, per US Battery’s Club Car fitment page. Buy six T-875s, T-890s or Ranger 160s. Our 8 volt golf cart battery guide compares them with Costco’s and Sam’s Club’s batteries.
- Four batteries, 48V cart = 12-volt. The lead-acid EZGO RXV and the Club Car Precedent Champion use four GC12 batteries. Buy four T-1275s; our 12 volt golf cart battery guide has the Crown and Duracell alternatives.
- Eight batteries, 48V cart = 6-volt. Some 48V carts run eight 6-volt batteries. Golf Cart Tire Supply sells an eight-pack of T-105s for this layout.
- Any of the above, going lithium: the OnePack replaces the whole pack with one battery. Trojan sells 36V, 48V and 72V versions.
Each lead-acid cell makes about 2 volts, so a 6-volt battery has three vent caps, an 8-volt has four and a 12-volt has six. If the caps and the count don’t match what you plan to buy, stop and recheck.
1. Trojan T-875 — Best for Six-Battery 48V Carts
Trojan T-875 8V Flooded Lead-Acid Battery (GC8)
- Trojan rates the T-875 at 145 Ah at the 5-hour rate, 155 Ah at 10 hours, 170 Ah at 20 hours and 189 Ah at 100 hours, with 117 minutes at 56 amps and 295 minutes at 25 amps. It weighs 63 lb.
- Golf Cart Tire Supply lists a six-pack for 48V carts at $1,988.95 (list $2,399.99) with free shipping, about $331 per battery.
- It is one of the six Trojan flooded models that Trojan's US and Canada warranty covers for 18 months of free replacement.
- At 63 lb it is the lightest Trojan 8-volt battery, and it uses the standard GC8 case (11.14 inches high), not the taller GC8H case of the Ranger 160.
2. Trojan T-105 — Best 6-Volt and Lowest Cost per kWh
Trojan T-105 6V Flooded Lead-Acid Battery (GC2)
- Trojan's spec page lists the T-105 at 185 Ah at the 5-hour rate, 207 Ah at 10 hours, 225 Ah at 20 hours and 250 Ah at 100 hours, with 115 minutes at 75 amps and 447 minutes at 25 amps. It weighs 62 lb.
- Golf Cart Tire Supply lists a six-pack for 36V carts at $1,898.95 (list $2,499.99) and an eight-pack for 48V carts at $1,998.95 (list $2,599.99).
- The eight-pack holds about 10.8 kWh at the 20-hour rate, the most energy of any Trojan set in this guide, which works out to roughly $185 per rated kWh.
- The T-105 Plus has identical capacity, runtime, weight and dimensions on Trojan's spec pages, and both carry the 18-month warranty.
3. Trojan Ranger 160 — Most Lead-Acid Range
Trojan Ranger 160 8V Flooded Lead-Acid Battery (GC8H)
- Trojan rates the Ranger 160 at 204 Ah at the 20-hour rate and 160 minutes at 56 amps, against 117 minutes for the T-875, and markets it as giving "35% more travel time between recharges."
- Trojan lists its HydroLink single-point watering system among the Ranger 160's features, and the battery carries the same 18-month warranty as the T-875.
- The catch is size and weight: 76 lb per battery and the taller GC8H case at 11.90 inches high, against 11.14 inches for a standard GC8. Six of them add 78 lb over a T-875 set.
- Dealer listings we found ran from about $253 to $312 per battery, and A1 SolarStore showed it out of stock on November 4, so ask a Trojan dealer for a six-pack quote.
4. Trojan T-1275 — Best for Four-Battery 48V Carts
Trojan T-1275 12V Flooded Lead-Acid Battery (GC12)
- Trojan rates the T-1275 at 150 Ah at the 20-hour rate, with 70 minutes at 75 amps, 102 minutes at 56 amps and 280 minutes at 25 amps. Each battery weighs 85 lb.
- Golf Cart Tire Supply lists the four-pack at $1,798.95 (list $2,199.99), the cheapest Trojan set in this guide in dollars, though not per kWh: four T-1275s hold about 7.2 kWh against 8.16 kWh for six T-875s.
- The T-1275 Plus has the same ratings and a lower 10.71-inch height, but Trojan's page says no watering system is available for it.
- Six T-1275s also make a 72-volt pack for modified carts.
5. Trojan OnePack 48V 105Ah — Best Lithium Upgrade
Trojan Lithium OnePack 48V 105Ah (original TR-48-110-M or OnePack S2 TR-48-105-M)
- Trojan rates the 48V OnePack at 105 Ah and 5.376 kWh at every discharge rate, with a claimed range of up to 60 miles per charge, in a single 120 lb LiFePO4 pack. Six T-875s weigh 378 lb.
- Golf Cart Tire Supply's bundle is $2,998.95 (list $3,999.99) and includes a Lester Summit II lithium charger, a mounting bracket kit, a charge gauge and a dash power button, with cart-specific options for Club Car Precedent and Onward, EZGO TXT, RXV, Express and Valor, Yamaha Drive and Drive2, and ICON.
- Check the part number. That bundle's SKU is TR-48-110-M, the original OnePack. Trojan's newer OnePack S2 (TR-48-105-M), listed from July 20, 2026, keeps 105 Ah and 120 lb but adds an IP67 rating, M16 CAN connectors and over-the-air firmware updates through Trojan's SmartBattery app. A self-heating S2 (TR-48-105-M-HT) for cold climates followed on September 29, 2026.
- The warranty is 10 years only after online registration within 90 days: 5 years of full replacement, then a credit of 50% of the original price in months 61-84 and 25% in months 85-120.
6. Trojan OnePack XR 48V 171Ah — Longest Range
Trojan Lithium OnePack Extended Range XR 48V 171Ah (TR-48-170-M)
- Trojan rates the XR at 171 Ah and 8.75 kWh, with a claimed range of up to 75 miles on one charge, at 170 lb.
- The OnePack HP (TR-48-170-HP) uses the same 171 Ah capacity but is rated for 300 amps of continuous discharge and 1,000 amps for 0.2 seconds, for lifted carts and upgraded motors.
- Trojan says both are drop-in compatible with EZGO RXV Gen 1 ELiTE carts and Navitas controller systems.
- Dealer listings for the XR ran from $2,925 at A1 SolarStore (out of stock on November 4) to $3,795 for a Batteries in a Flash bundle with charger, gauge and bracket. Note that Trojan's XR and HP pages list the same "252 minutes at 25 amps" as the 105 Ah packs, which would equal only 105 Ah, so rely on the 171 Ah rating.
7. Trojan AES AGM (T875-AES, T105-AES, T1275-AES) — No Watering, No Lithium
Trojan T875-AES 8V Sealed AGM Battery (GC8)
- Trojan rates the T875-AES at 170 Ah at the 20-hour rate and 143 minutes at 56 amps, more than the flooded T-875's 117, and says its AES batteries are validated at 1,200 cycles at 100% depth of discharge versus 400 for standard AGM.
- It weighs 88 lb, 25 lb more than a T-875, and Trojan lists an operating range of -40°F to 140°F against -4°F to 113°F for its flooded batteries.
- All Trojan AES models carry a 3-year free replacement warranty, double the best flooded warranty. The T105-AES (240 Ah, 148 minutes at 75 amps, 89 lb) and T1275-AES (146 Ah, 105 lb) cover 6V and 12V carts.
- Search listings on November 4 put the T875-AES at about $352 to $509 per battery. Your charger needs an AGM profile.
Every Trojan golf cart battery, rated on the same terms
Trojan publishes 75-amp runtimes for its 6-volt batteries and 56-amp runtimes for its 8-volt batteries (the flooded T-1275 gets both), so compare runtime only at the same amp rating. All figures are from Trojan’s product pages, checked November 4, 2026.
| Model | Volts / case | 20-hr capacity | Runtime (rated) | Weight | Height | Warranty |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| T-605 | 6V / GC2 | 210 Ah | 105 min at 75 A | 58 lb | 11.07 in | 12 months |

| Ranger 160 | 8V / GC8H | 204 Ah | 160 min at 56 A | 76 lb | 11.90 in | 18 months |
| T875-AES (AGM) | 8V / GC8 | 170 Ah | 143 min at 56 A | 88 lb | 10.73 in | 3 years |
| T-1275 / T-1275 Plus | 12V / GC12 | 150 Ah | 70 min at 75 A | 85 lb | 11.13 / 10.71 in | 18 months |
| T1275-AES (AGM) | 12V / GC12 | 146 Ah | 113 min at 56 A | 105 lb | 10.96 in | 3 years |
| OnePack 36V 105Ah | 36V lithium | 105 Ah (4.03 kWh) | Not comparable | 86 lb | 11.8 in | 10 years* |
| OnePack S2 48V 105Ah | 48V lithium | 105 Ah (5.38 kWh) | Up to 60 miles (claimed) | 120 lb | 9.2 in | 10 years* |
| OnePack XR / HP 48V 171Ah | 48V lithium | 171 Ah (8.75 kWh) | Up to 75 miles (claimed) | 170 lb | 10.5 in | 10 years* |
| OnePack 72V 105Ah | 72V lithium | 105 Ah (7.39 kWh) | Not comparable | 141 lb | 10.6 in | 10 years* |
*OnePack: 10 years only when registered within 90 days of purchase; otherwise 1 year. Flooded warranty terms are from Trojan’s Manufacturer’s Limited Warranty for the US and Canada; AES terms from Trojan’s AES limited warranty.
Two patterns stand out. First, the higher-capacity flooded models (T-125, T-145, T-890) carry a shorter 12-month warranty than the T-105, T-875 and T-1275, so the extra runtime comes with six fewer months of coverage. The Ranger 160 is the exception: more runtime than the T-890 and the full 18 months. Second, the “H” cases (GC2H for the T-145, GC8H for the Ranger 160) are roughly 0.8 inch taller than the standard cases, which can foul seat frames and hold-down rods on some carts.
The Trojan warranty fine print
Trojan’s warranties differ more between battery families than most product pages suggest. These are the terms in Trojan’s own warranty documents:
| Battery family | Free replacement | Pro-rated period | Key conditions |
|---|---|---|---|
| T-105, T-105 Plus, T-875, T-1275, T-1275 Plus, Ranger 160 | 18 months | None | Original receipt, original purchaser only, not transferable |
| Other Trojan flooded (T-125, T-145, T-890, T-605) | 12 months | None | Same as above |
| AES AGM (T105-AES, T875-AES, T1275-AES) | 3 years | None | Bought from Trojan, a master distributor or authorized dealer; non-transferable |
| OnePack lithium (36V, 48V, XR, HP, 72V) | 5 years | Years 6-10: 50% credit in months 61-84, 25% in months 85-120 | Register within 90 days or coverage drops to 1 year; approved charger only |
What the documents add:
- Batteries that came in a new cart are not covered by Trojan. Both the lead-acid and OnePack warranties exclude batteries Trojan sold to vehicle manufacturers, and tell you to contact the cart maker instead.
- Neglect voids lead-acid coverage. Trojan’s US warranty lists improper fluid levels (under- or over-watering), overcharging and undercharging, freezing and tampered date codes among the exclusions. Our battery maintenance checklist follows Trojan’s watering rules.
- OnePack failure means under 60% capacity. Trojan only treats a OnePack as defective if it delivers less than 60% of its published capacity in Trojan’s test procedure.
- Heat is logged. The OnePack warranty is void if the pack operates at an average temperature above 80°F (27°C) over its life, as measured and logged by the battery’s BMS. For carts stored in a hot garage in the South, that clause is worth raising with the dealer before you buy.
- Transfers depend on the purchase date. Trojan’s warranty page says OnePacks bought and registered on or after September 1, 2026 can transfer their remaining warranty once, and only if the battery stays in the cart it was registered to. One older answer on the same page still says the 10-year warranty is not transferable; the September 2026 rule is the newer one. OnePack 105Ah and XR packs bought before August 1, 2025 carry an 8-year warranty instead of 10.
- Chargers are separate. Trojan’s warranty FAQ says chargers, gauges and other non-battery parts get their own 1-year Trojan warranty; Golf Cart Tire Supply lists the Lester charger in its OnePack bundle with a 48-month charger warranty.
Cost per kWh: Trojan lead-acid vs OnePack
Rated energy is volts times the 20-hour amp-hour rating for lead-acid, and Trojan’s published kWh for the OnePack. Trojan recommends discharging lead-acid batteries to 50% or less, so the usable column halves the lead-acid figures.
| Trojan set (48V unless noted) | Set price | Rated energy | Price per rated kWh | Usable at Trojan's 50% guideline | Pack weight | Full-replacement warranty |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8 x T-105 | $1,998.95 | 10.8 kWh | $185 | 5.4 kWh | 496 lb | 18 months |
| 6 x T-105 (36V) | $1,898.95 | 8.1 kWh | $234 | 4.05 kWh | 372 lb | 18 months |
| 6 x T-875 | $1,988.95 | 8.16 kWh | $244 | 4.08 kWh | 378 lb | 18 months |
| 4 x T-1275 | $1,798.95 | 7.2 kWh | $250 | 3.6 kWh | 340 lb | 18 months |
| OnePack 48V 105Ah bundle (with charger) | $2,998.95 | 5.38 kWh | $558 | No 50% limit published | 120 lb | 5 years |
Lead-acid wins on up-front cost per kWh by more than two to one. The OnePack’s case is weight (258 lb lighter than six T-875s), no watering, and coverage: spread over the full-replacement period, the T-875 set costs about $1,326 per covered year and the OnePack bundle about $600. Our battery lifespan guide explains how long each chemistry typically lasts in a cart, and our lithium golf cart battery guide compares the OnePack’s rivals.
Buying Trojan batteries: date codes, dealers and look-alikes
- Read the date code. Trojan stamps it on the negative terminal or the cover next to it: a letter for the month (A = January through L = December) and a digit for the year. A1 is January 2021; a battery made in October 2026 reads J6. Flooded batteries self-discharge 5-15% a month, per Trojan, so a battery that sat uncharged in a warehouse for half a year starts life behind.
- Buy from an authorized dealer. Every Trojan warranty document ties coverage to purchase from Trojan, a distributor or an authorized dealer, and the OnePack warranty also requires registration. Trojan’s website does not sell direct; it points to a dealer locator.
- Costco and Sam’s Club don’t sell Trojan. Costco’s golf batteries are Interstate and Sam’s Club’s are Duracell, covered in our 6V and 8V guides.
- “Pacer” batteries. A1 SolarStore lists Pacer P-105 and P-875 batteries as a Trojan value line with a 12-month warranty. None of them appear on Trojan’s golf cart product list on trojanbattery.com, so ask the seller to confirm in writing who backs the warranty before choosing them over a T-105 or T-875.
- Plan the charger. For lead-acid, Trojan’s sizing rule is 10-13% of the 20-hour rating: about 17-22 amps for a T-875 set and 23-29 amps for T-105s. Lithium needs a charger on Trojan’s compatibility list. Our golf cart charger guide covers 36V and 48V chargers.
The bottom line
For a six-battery 48V cart, buy the Trojan T-875: 170 Ah, 63 lb and an 18-month warranty at $1,988.95 for six. If you want more range from lead-acid and have the clearance, the Ranger 160 adds 37% more rated runtime at 56 amps with the same warranty. Use the T-105 for 36V carts and the T-1275 for four-battery carts. Skip the T-125, T-145 and T-890 unless you specifically need their extra amp-hours, because they drop to a 12-month warranty. If you plan to keep the cart for years and are done with watering, the OnePack 48V costs about $1,000 more than a T-875 set, weighs 258 lb less and carries 5 years of full replacement. Register it within 90 days.
